About Alain

For the past decade, I’ve been fascinated by how data reveals the ways people connect, create, and collaborate – and how those patterns shape the cultures we build. At the heart of it all is a simple idea: the way we design work and lead people should feel human – and, most importantly, built to last.

At Humanyze, I brought people analytics to organizations across North America and worldwide, showing how collaboration data, when handled thoughtfully, can help leaders build healthier, more connected cultures.

Before that, at the Broad Institute, I introduced organizational network analysis (ONA) to the org, back when “people analytics” was still taking shape.

At Uber, I got my first taste of (literal) boots-on-the-ground startups – navigating regulations, cultural shifts, and a few close calls along the way.

I grew up in Hong Kong, spent time in New York, Boston, and the Bay Area, and am now back on the East Coast between Toronto and New York – still exploring the same question:

What does it take to make people and organizations truly built to last?

Outside of all that, I try to keep things simple - lifting weights, running marathons, and cooking basic, healthy food. Lately, I’ve been exploring how fitness and wellness intersect - what it really takes to build sustainable performance and longevity.
